Trackman Questions

It wil read like a negative swing direction because it is negative towards the target (as set on the trackman). Very important that both trackman and golfer agree on the aim :)

Frans, there is nothing like being talked down to by an 18 handicapper. Only on a Golf Forum.

Your welcome ! :D But I was not aware that my index should be a major indication whether or not I can talk about Trackman. You are aware that I do own one for almost two years now?

Yes, Trackman was calibrated correctly and yes, the student understood what the target was...

There is a differerence between calibrate en target setup. Calibration is the level on the trackman where it sets itself level. Target setup is when you set the yellow line to the target. Two different things but both very important.

FYI, the Smash Factor was 1.5 and the mark on the driver was dead center. I understand gear effect. It wasn't gear effect.
And you did remember that the closing of the face creates different speeds for the clubhead toe and heel and that difference can show a 1.50 which could be wrong?

This wasn't a trick shot. He's a former tour player who routinely shoots in the 60's.
You don't think that vsp is seriously high?
I was just trying to find out what I was missing when it comes to reading the numbers. Other than Clubface, A or A, or Club Path, assuming center clubface contact, what else should I be looking at based on the numbers I provided?

Like i said, horz. launch angle. Also check spin axis and it direction.

But only here to help. If you don't like to be helped by an index 18 player then this is my last posting in this thread. Have fun .....

If you don't mind being helped then the following questions are still open :
- outside test
- quality of the ball used
- wind conditions
- Was the 22yard reported by the trackman
- horz. launch angle
- spin axis

Sorry, Frans. I just get a little put off by some perceived condescension. We are all here to learn.

It was an outside test, brand new balls, no wind, the 22 yards were reported by Trackman.

I don't have the Horizontal Launch agle or Spin axis in front of me right now, but I do have a question about HSP.

What does it mean when the HSP is widely divergent from the Club Path? Certain players I've measured have had a negative HSP and a negative CP, and others have had a +5.6 HSP with -1.2 Club Path. Which one (or both) has the most effect on the ball flight?

It means you're far from lowpoint. A high negative, or high positive AoA. See post #2, point #2. Shallower VSP's also increase the HSP/CP differential.

Club Path trumps HSP because it's the horizontal component of the True Path. The D-plane is formed from the True Path and True Face.

Savy,

Would I be correct in thinking that someone with a low VSP has several options. Create a higher VSP through carry, tumble or standing a bit closer at address or aim "the machine" more to the left and play the driver closer to low point?

What do you think?

We certainly set the machine up at a specific target and gave the students the same target in which to aim. That does not change their personal tendencies, however.
