Looks good Paul.

Just curious, it seems you have a "popout" type move to start the backswing. Have you tried starting the swing with no popout?

The only thing that I noticed was your "start up swivel" or whatever you call it.

I know it really is weird!

Along with the twitch before I take it back it couldn't hurt to at least try to get rid of it.

And yes it could be called a startup swivel Curtis.

How much has your handicap changed

getting right to the nitty gritty....

I wish I could give you some hard numbers but really I don't know yet guys. I will have to let you know this season. I can hit it but I am not a "natural" I will tell you that.

The truth is I hardly ever add em up. But I'm not just out goofing around either.

This could spark some debate on the value of playing golf but I don't really want to get into that right now.

All I know is I just keep trying to get as good as I can. For the most part I'm not interested in scraping it around knowing I can do better. I want to be able to do it all.

This is the first time I have been fairly content (or at least I feel I am in a good spot) with my golf game for longer than maybe a day or two. I am gonna keep learning.

That's the long answer for anyone who had questions.

Couple months till the snow melts peeps.

I'm gonna keep posting video as it comes along and especially if I have any of my "breakthroughs." :)

Bird,

Do me a favor and post a swing as though you were hitting it on the course. Beating range nuggets is one thing, having a routine and practising shots is different.

Give us a DTL with a routine.

BTW: Your action looks good and could produce good stuff on the course. Way better than the last clip I saw a year or two ago.

Posted a few on YouTube. (of 47 I took that day)

Will elaborate later. (3:03 AM!)

Hitting it pretty good.

Feel free to lay it on me BTW. Brad (holeout) already has created a blueprint for me!! So...

;)

What are your goals?

You may need some work on that swing to get plus handicap.

Standing up through impact is the opposite of what most good players do.

With all due respect martin- routine schmootine! (poutine)

:)

I have a target. (my mat is aimed at it) I was just fooling with mechanics man.

I never really considered doing it anyway but I never would have thought most would be interested in seeing a long clip of me lining things up...approaching the ball...getting setup...etc.

Trust me, I spend plenty of time thinking about and working on the fine details. (and so I can put them into play, of course) I would be embarassed to tell you some of the things that go on in my brain.

It's probably worth mentioning too (assuming it's related) that my dad took 47 videos of me doing different stuff. He was done hitting balls and needed to be somewhere so I was a little rushed. My tempo does get faster from the first videos we shot. I'm not all that worried about it anyway though. I was hitting it good. I'll revisit tempo later- it is somewhere on my "List." :)

BTW yes I can hit a less than full shot. :);)

And thanks Martin it is much better! Miles better than before. The clips of course do not even fully represent the improvement. (and it's still early as far as this "new stuff" goes) It's tough to know from one video of a good shot how erratic the bad shots can be.

Only a couple months and Old Man Winter will F.O.

:D

To me, none of it really even matters at this point beyond getting as good as I can.

I'm not really into setting goals in an attempt to motivate.

I am gonna see what I can do.

I hope I stay quirky though.

Plus handicap this year, baby.

I don't think I need all that much work at all to do that.

But I've been wrong before.

birdie...standing up is one quirk you definitely don't need if you want to reach the high goals you have set.

Jack Nicklaus stood up a bit also but nowhere near as much as you.

You aint Jack either.....

You know what I really don't even care all that much.

You're damn right I ain't Jack. I'm putting together my own game.

Keep em comin ej.

Yeah vj has that funky forward hip thrust on the downswing. He doesn't really stand up though. Not sure how he can hit it consistently with that move. His right elbow gets stuck behind his body because of that forward hip thrust.Maybe thats why he has to practice 25 hours a day.

I'd like to see his new swing as he has supposedly gotten rid of that move.

now im not 100% sure here, but i think he aims right, and plays with clubs bent about 8* open and plays a power cut.

i also dont think birdie "stands-up" he may have less measuerable waist bend, but he has a similar hip slide towards the ball. i dont think he actually gets higher.

birdie, my one tip regarding the hips-moving-towards-ball problem would be, from the top, to get your left shoulder behind you ASAP.

i think ;)

DO you not compete?

:)

I haven't had Poutine in 15 years!

Remember, I'm trying to help you. I don't mind you disregarding my comments but my concern is for YOUR IMPROVEMENT:

My take: your preshot waggle is a little quirky and thus my request to see if it calms down when you walk through a shot. Shouldn't take more than 12 seconds... right now you fidget over the ball a lot for a dude hitting balls on the range. If you had some HEAT on you, you might be Fidgy Fidgerson. Great toque btw...

Like Kevin says: CARRY CARRY CARRY.
It's was a tough lesson for me, but it has helped immeasurably.

and the Poutine, er Routine is REALLY IMPORTANT.... Auto pilot.

Good luck Paul!

Like I said,he has gotten rid of that hip hump move, maintains his tushline better now....says hes hittin it 15 yards more.
