Why Tiger misses to the right now

This is a question to all of you. I saw a stat today that in all of the 3rd round tiger missed a total of something like 20 shots to the right.

So, his swing swing pretty much almost guarantees a miss right as long as he doesn't flip it through impact then it will go left. I know this because well.....

how about one of you answer it? I don't have any prizes to give away if you get it right but you'll feel better about yourself :)

I was gonna post a question about his swing , so I guess this is as good as any. To me it looked like Tiger was pretty laid off at the top on many of his swings. Esepecially the one on 13 were he dropped the club after his swing. It coulnd have been camera angle, but I tried to look at the angle compared to his feet and his club was pointing between 10 and 11.

Anyone else notice this?

His right wedge is off.

Mostly because of setup and grip.

He can do well with his current motion ONLY when his Tempo and Rhythm don't get quick, which as a hitter who is trying to swing, he does often. The result - fore right.

Looks like his right forearm is high in relation to his clubshaft.

----O O = hand
<- club

A little exaggerated obviously.

Hell I dunno.....you telepathically entered Tiger's body?

Tell us Jim.[8D]

Edz is correct. He has swing problems, but it starts with his setup being off, posture and grip.
Ok, the general consensus is that Tiger's grip should be slightly stronger.

So what's wrong with his posture and setup? I know some of you have mentioned that his neck should be more parallel to the ground, so he's looking at the ball directly rather than gazing downwards. What else?

Over the years, haven't most of Tiger's misses been to the right? This isn't exactly a new problem for him, right?

When he hits it right is it a block (starts right and stays right) or slice (starts straight and over fades)?

This is not a problem associated with Tigers "new" swing, its a carry over of his long standing hip firing to gain distance theory.

Simply put, there are times when his arms lag behind his body - hence "fore right".

He needs to understand that his hip rotation does not power his swing, it merely facilitates the effective transportation, by his arms, of the club to its destination.

I agree with Ed to a point and sure a weak grip with a hitter's impulse will make the ball go right. However with his swing changes he has missed it right for different reasons.

Currently, the way he's swinging it now the closest person is currently wanole. I really want to give it to him, he's REALLY CLOSE but think a little more about what causes the lay off and you'll find your answer.

nope and nope...come on wanole, where you at :D

Also, some of you may not agree with me which is fine. But this is my honest opinion of why he does it.

BTW....3rd round of Doral, 14th hole, Tiger hit an 8 iron into the sun and it was probably the best swing i've seen him make in a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

How about because he has right wrist cock?

I was at Riviera and watched his pre-swing practise, like when he's just standing around without a club. He goes to top/end of the backswing, and then he tries to point both thumbs way down at impact and into both-arms-straight. Something's funny there, and it seems to be right wrist cock.

I know good players who are swingers when they try to add a little somp'n somp'n to it, they do it by adding right arm which tends to make them angle hinge, causing a righty.

Yup, but that's always been a "Right miss" for Tiger no matter how he is swinging.

one of these reasons?

He lists his swing with his arms? His right hand grip is weak? poor rotation?

Ok...hint. It has to do with rotation but i'm not saying where. Come on guys, there are some really good minds here you can get it.

That's weird. It's basically nothing that's been mentioned?

Bad pivot?

Rolls his ankles badly, out of sync with his arms?

His eyes roll back in his head during his <evil> downswing?

Or that with his weak grip, on the backswing as he rotates his left arm he gets the left wrist arched but clubface open (but grip was mentioned, hmmm).
