This site needs MORE of this - period, end of discussion.

Good stuff, Brian!

Brian, given all that you've done to improve teachers' and students' knowledge of the golf swing since the launch of your forum, I personally think that you don't owe anybody any explanations for your swing.

Your "no stone unturned" approach and your willingness to give up long held beliefs about how the swing works is admirable. You've certainly "smartened" me up and I'm tremendously grateful for all your time and effort.

Furthermore, to criticise your swing is all rather churlish and reflects badly on the people doing it.

I look fwd to be able to meeting you one day when you cross the pond and do your first GTE in Europe.

Yours,

James

I have to say I get more out of the short video answers too. I think Brian explains himself better verbally too. Perhaps he types as well as I do and tries not to be too wordy.

Brian,

All things being equal, would you say it is easier to zero things out at impact with the left arm where this guy has it when it's parallel to the ground in the downswing

compared to where this guy has it?:

Thanks,

Hogan, not a good comparison. Two completely different camera angles and all bets are off when the ball is teed up. Also, look at last parallel on Villegas. Its behind his hands but watch how fast he clears his hips and fits the club in. Man, would i love to see Trackman data on him.

Rory is a long way from zero, with an HSP of up to 13º with driver.

Draw your own conclusions!

Sorry if this has already been covered, but. . .would you say NHA is on average closer to zero than SD? NHA again feels like it would be closer to zero.

When I try and swing NHA I hit high straight or fall to the right shots and my misses aren't usually too bad. When I try and draw the ball I can miss both ways, I suppose that's swinging too far to the right? I should probably just play the fade, especially off the tee, but for some reason I prefer to see it go right to left. Anyone else have this problem?

"Clear Difficulties...."

The EASIEST THING TO DO IN THE WORLD is getting someone to zero out.

Much harder to get "good zeros" but not ANY HARDER than any other combination.

With a low spinning driver, 8° inside-out resultant path, and a 4,5,or 6° clubface produces very slight draws.

Rory's resultant path is probably about 8 or 9° inside-out, and the fade spin/gear effect of the heel hit makes it even straighter flying.

The only "Clear Difficulties" with zeroing out is if you have your hips grossly far forward at impact.

Not that their anything wrong with that. ;)

Does everyone need zeros?

Heck no.

Plenty of wacky impact interval combinations on any tour.

But I am having a LOT OF SUCCESS with zeros, and other good IIN's.

IMO it's always good to get everyone to zero-land once and to a point where they can be comfortable and repeat it.

THEN

Move them to 1 side or the other of the "matrix" for their preferred shot shape and/or window. That's just me though.

I'm not biting Brian, it's not productive.

Rory's face was an average of 2º open, max was 5º.

What approach would you take to move him towards zero?

Here's his swing.

I think it is quite obvious where to move Rory lefter for whatever reason you would want to.

Let's see if the peanut gallery knows what I'd do first, then I'll smarten you up.
