What's you guys' thoughts on this concept?
(shaft on same angle at impact as address from dtl)
Is it beneficial, desirable, or meaningless?
Its not an imperative, but is it more than coincidence that that the supposed greatest strikers came in flat? Hogan, Nelson, Snead, Knudson, and Trevino.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought Hogan came in slightly above his setup plane.
Most of the guys who got "planed" through impact had high hands at address.Hogan,Moe,Sergio.
It's got nothing to do with elbow or low planes.Plenty of elbow planers got their club above the address plane at impact if they set up with low hands. You want examples?
Who really cares about address whether hands are high or low. I would say that Mac O'Grady came into impact quite low even if the handle was above his address position.
I realize many great golfers have come into impact with the handle high, but the elite strikers seem to have come in with the handle low. Curious to see what Project 1.68 has to say about this, but it surely has to be more than coincidence.
Others: Cotton, B.. Jones, De Vicenzo, even Jimmy Bruen
OK, you're right. Low plane and EEP are not sufficient conditions. How hands are set at address seems to matter a lot. I haven't thought about it.
Cheers
