    Left wrist re-cocking

To Brian, and others: What influences how much the wrists re-cock after the follow through (around waist high lets say)? What's the effect on ball striking? For example, Luke Donald and Ernie Els re-cocks more than Zach Johnson.

    shaft too stiff if...?

From the front on view of the swing, if the shaft unbends (i.e. C-shaped as opposed to D-shaped) too early during the downswing, does that mean the shaft is too stiff? Assume a reasonably orthodox swing.

kinetic chain and release FOR PRACTICAL PURPOSES

Assuming this kinetic chain thing must occur in an optimum swing... Should you actively try to break/snap/slow down your pivot? If not, then how do you put an automatic braking system in place? Is actively using your pivot all the way the way from the start to finish a bad swing thought?

    spine angle

WHY does my spine get more upright during the downswing (down-the-line view)? I noticed players who do this usually have a straighter right arm at impact than players who don't.

intricacies of a flat left wrist

The general consensus on this forum is a flat/arched left wrist at the top is good insurance against slicing. I have made some discoveries on my own swing. It may apply to others as well, and if it does I would love to hear about it. This is what I found. A very arched left wrist (i.e. max...

    Heavy Putter

www.heavyputter.com has anyone tried it? does it work? I tested it in pro shop and it seemed very easy to return the clubface square to the ball. My worry is that I wont be able to switch back to a normal putter if I get too used to it!

    about Japanese clubs

So many Japanese clubs out there... Honma, Miura, Fourteen, PRGR, to name a few... Are Japanese clubs really better? They seem to be more expensive. They claim better quality control and tighter tolerances. Any thoughts?

    opposite effect using twistaway!

With my current pattern, I find it easier to draw the ball with a very very slightly bent left wrist at the top. And I find it easier to fade the ball with a mild twistaway move. Isn't the twistaway supposed to make it easier for me to draw/hook it? There is nothing wrong with this. I am happy...

    Hogan's Driving Accuracy

What do you think Hogan's average driving accuracy would be using today's equipment on today's courses playing against today's players? Edit: I am referring to Hogan's 1953 swing (the swing used to win The Open, The US Open and The Masters (schedule would not permit playing PGA Championship at...

For Brian Manzella and Paul only: Snapping the Kinetic Chain Revisited

First what is snapping the kinetic chain about? From what I've gathered, it's the speed transferred to the arms, hands and clubhead via the slowing down (or "breaking") of the Pivot from the ground up (feet, knees, hips, etc.) after the initial startdown of the downswing. Does it occur in all...

    Shafts and pingman

Assuming same clubhead speed (say, 110 MPH) for a driver, how much difference in direction would there be between a R-flex shaft compared with a S-flex shaft compared with a X-flex shaft when testing with the Pingman machine?

Spine angle constant - fact or myth?

We already know from the front-view, the spine angle tilts away from the target - a phenomenon known as Axis Tilt. This occurs unless the golfer sets up with the same amount of tilt as impact. In an ideal swing, should the spine angle as viewed from down-the-line (target view) stay at the same...
