To me, and take this with a very large pinch of salt because I haven't seen her enough, but she doesn't seem to mash it like some others. She seems to be great mentally, under pressure etc. (like all Scandinavians) and gets the job done :) .

From what I have seen at Kingsmill last year, very, very few of the ladies get really 'good' compression. I was a bit surprised at how few did.

Creamer and Pressel were the only two who really had 'sizzle', Kerr had a bit too. Sally Little was one of the few others.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, for some reason 95% of LPGA players have some sort of throwaway. Annika has a little, not much, but there.

However the ones who DON'T, all seem to lead the driving distance category. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Brady, you have email.

Never seen her in person. I did record her clinic on the Golf Channel tonight though. Didn't see the throwaway. Isn't she among the top 5 in distance? I do know that she is longer than Creamer by at least 15 yards. She was smoking her in the tourney at Trump's course in CA.

That chick is strong. I bet she would stomp a mudhole in 70% of the people on this forum . . . and I ain't talking about golf. I know I would run from her . . . have a feeling I would get caught though.

Well it used to be there a little bit...i know she has been working on her swing to improve her distance and "mash" the ball a bit better.

Watching Annika swing on the clips i have found and on Red's site, i would say her discipline is outstanding, meaning her rpms for her whole body is in sync, she doesnt try to add anything, i think thats why she is so consistant.

Jim, If you say Annika has throwaway? She is so accurate, what the heck is wrong with throwaway. She hits its a long way. If you compare the PGA tour stats of her compatiable distance, she kicks every PGA man out of the ball park. Throwaway always seems to come up with TGMer talk, yet it can't be proven to be ineffective in the accuracy of Annika's game.

Bets are on, that with her throwaway she can out hit you and without question, out play you in every stat. Now lets get down to what she really does in her golf swing, that puts most to shame. Lets leave throwaway to the dumpsters.

Can this swing be taught? Where does one start?

Anyone have recent front shots of Annika?

Victor

vball4812, what does Jim's playing ability have to do with Annika's throwaway?

Given your post, I would have to ask..."what do you find beneficial about clubhead throwaway"?

Annika knows it is/was a problem that is why she is getting rid of it slowly but surely the last couple years. She doesn't nearly bend the left wrist as soon as she used to.

First, are we talking about throwaway or simply a sweep release (like Watson)?

Second, Homer does mention that there seems to be a use for all variations, including clubhead throwaway. A good lob shot could be hit using throwaway, for instance.

Listen, all my comment was meant to imply is that girls don't hit the ball FARTHER because so many of them have leakage.

THATS IT

Don't take it for more than that! Annika used to have it, hell some PGA guys have/had/still have it, and i am just saying that it is ONE of the reasons why they don't hit the ball AS FAR "as they could."

Leadbetter recommends Pelvic Floor excercises:D

What most impresses me is that, as I understand it, Annika was no phenom like Tiger, Wie etc. She worked her way into the history books when many with similar "natural" ability are still also-rans.

Interesting, Annika dominates the LPGA tour, has the swing, the stats, the records and this is all that this forum can take or make of your swing. Now if she had balls, she might get more talk.:)

Nobody knows how to teach this swing? Nobody has any front pic's? Like what was said, if this was a TGM man, it would be headlines.

Well I asked about the best and this is all she gets. What a loss.

Cheers

Victor

Ahahahha. It's just too tempting to make jokes.

I have never seen front pics man.....would be great to see tho.

I think she has a great swing.

Reverse Shift I'm guessing?

...

I think her consistency is so great because her rhythm never changes.....on top of having an amazing swing to begin with. EdZ prolly loves her swing...

I dunno man.....all Imparatives, all Essentials (I think)....clubface/head/shaft.....great Impact.....

.....great physical condition....amazing focus/drive/aspirations.....dedication.....standout short game/putting (I'd have to assume) too. She has everything....and she wants everything.

I know what I'm saying is very basic.....but it's true.

....I'll see if I can find a frontal (full frontal?...jkjk sorry man ...had to slip that in there hehe :D...just buggin') view of her swinging so we can look at that release.
