Tying shoelaces is a simple task (Stage 4). Learning to tie them from scratch is not so simple (Stages 1, 2 & 3) . Consciously explaining what you are doing when tying them is also very difficult (a Stage 4 unconscious competence explaining the task consciously, Stage 3)
Agree with you. But I think everyone should go through what you call Stage 3. Otherwise Stage 4 is an impossibility. I hope I'm in Stage 4 already. Sure trust my teacher, and I think I understand him completely. Matter of fact, makes studying the gokf swing boring now...I should play more. If only I don't have a day job...

well heres mine, hopefully Brian might give his thoughts on it,
Great swing. I like it.

You're doing all I'm saying re grip, big Alpha angle (big accum 3 angle) and uncocked left wrist at setup. Who taught you these? If Tiger would do these also, he'll be romping every trophy IMO.

My simple backswing.

Slightly open face at address. Allow face to continue to open so that at halfway point (parallel to ground) toe is pointing straight up. At this point if you stopped, butt of club is pointing parallel to target. From there go 'up' more vertical to top of backswing (not back and around you).

That's it. Simple and uncomplicated. Seems to put me on plane and allows for straighter shots.
