Brian, what have you got to say about the fact that "the best swing of all time" doesn't use a "Manzella neutral" grip (matching left wrist and leading edge)?

These days you get at least 10 extra yards roll on TOUR CUT fairways, because they cut them so tight!
I played Bay Hill the day after a huge down pour, the drainage on that course is so good you would nave never guessed it rained that much, tons of roll, an easy 15+ yards on that dayjim_0068 said:HA! 10 yards?
You ever play on a nationwide or PGA course right before/after a tournament? You should if you haven't you'd be surprised how much further your ball is down the fairway than what you are used too

It WAS the best measured 3 imperatives of all-time, IMHO.
Now the TRULY best?
Hmmm......
self-mastery said:I would think that the "best swing ever" would have to combine distance and accuracy. Being a true ballstriker was cool 10-20 years ago, but in todays day being able to slide the ball left, right, up, and down isn't as important as launching it far and having a great short game to take advantage of your length.
I have to say that Tiger Woods combine both length and accuracy (driver smiver!) better than anyone. Ben Hogan and Lee Buck are cool relics of the past, but I doubt either one would want to face Tiger on a Sunday evening with his red shirt and game face on.

I'm more interested in results: number of majors, number of wins, and the ability to close. All else is novelty...

Look at the photos from the down-the-line view, his "back-of-left-hand —to— clubface" relationship wasn't that far out of neutral.
Even so, it wasn't NEUTRAL, but, so what?
I can hit it just fine with a strong grip, but for me, I hit it better, and have more shotmaking flexibility with MY grip.
Slicers and Hackers and some better players improve faster with a neutral grip.
Some don't.
It WILL make you learn some form of angled hinge motion, and that may be why ex-hookers love it.
