Maybe he didn't see the shot. At the end of the day, a lot of guys out there don't watch their playing partners. Certainly a possibility.

Don't think so.

After his round, Wittenberg told the media, "I saw it perfectly off the tee. I told him exactly where I thought it crossed, and we all agreed, so he's definitely great on that. There is no doubt, guys. The ball crossed where he dropped."

Mark Rolfing, who was following the group for NBC, thought that the drop was good from his perspective on the tee. It is really illogical to believe that Tiger would intentionally try to cheat when everything he does is caught on camera. Anybody who has ever played golf knows that it isn't always easy to pinpoint the point of entry of your ball to a hazard.

I liked Rolfing's point about Sergio at the end of that video: "Like I said, I really don't believe I can win the big ones. Here, let me show you."

But there was another official by the grassy knoll. He was saying Sergio's club was going "BACK AND TO THE LEFT, BACK AND TO THE LEFT". And there was a Jewish fella who filmed it all on 8 millimeter...

It was Sergio who hit Tiger's ball into the water on 14 and Tiger who hit Sergio's ball into the water on 17. A CIA insider told me so.;)

The great George Carlin. Thanks for posting that classic.

Tiger is great, he's my hero, don't say anything bad about him. He's never done anything wrong. He is flawless, he is fantastic. I love him, because he's Tiger.
Tiger's overrated; Take away his favorite courses and what have you got (Phil's career!); His dad was a prick; John Feinstein knows all; Phil is great; I'm so blinded by my hatred that I can't enjoy him for what he is - the greatest golfer of our time, probably of all time; but he cheated on his wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!; with a pancake waitress!!!!!!; Sure, his winning percentage (.273) is more than twice that of Jack's but Jack played in a tougher era; Hogan!!!!!!!!!!!!; I'm embarrassed by all of this bitching; @#$% him, the @##$%^ c%^n

The thing is, haters like mgranato and wulsy can't even say that anymore. Sawgrass has been one of, if not the, most uncomfortable courses for Tiger throughout his entire career!

That's very true. I was one to say horses for courses but that's a strong performance on a course ill suited for his recent play.

He still managed to eke out a win before. Let's see him do that at the John Deere or the Reno Tahoe Open.

I disagree. I do not think that Tiger should play in teeny-tiny events. He's not young anymore. Higher risk of injury. I think almost everything Tiger does, including his tournament scheduling, is oriented around maximizing his odds of winning majors. And I agree with his view that he should prioritize major championships.

Do appearance fees / prize money factor in to the decision-making? Probably not much at all. I think Tiger's demonstrated that he has more money than he knows what to do with.

I like Tiger now that he has won at Sawgrass. He's the best golfer ever. And he's Tiger.
