Sorry maybe you are right. If I try a bunch of browsers I get the big closed graphic, but with IE7 I get smaller notices that the contest is closed but all the videos are there.

It must be making them available because I have their older code in my cache. Guess I won't be clearing my cache any time soon.

If the Thailand guy can tell me how to find the videos from the menu, then I'll post some links.

Maybe TGC should settle it with a Big Break format. Each instructor gets a student of equal handicap index. The students compete in a skills challenge. Might make an interesting show.

Is TGC looking for another Breed type character? Breed is an excellent entertainer and is making a name for himself. He did the color commentary for the PGA championship internet feed. Could he be looking to move on from "The Fix".

Yeah... no kiddin'

I see where the four finalist were supposed to be revealed today (22nd)... it also goes on to say:

"November 22nd - December 15th ~ Come back daily to vote for who you would like to see as the next Golf Channel Instructor!"

Could it be possible that TGC would let this selection process be be decided by popular vote?

Does that seem a bit fishy, or is it just me?

BTW, Martin... If you and Brian aren't both in the final four, it's going to give new meaning to the name "The Golf Fix".

Good luck to you both !!

Hey Joe.. my reading of their message is that 4 instructors will be revealed 11/22.

"Please check back beginning November 22nd when the 4 finalist will be revealed."

But if voting starts on 22 Nov, doesn't that mean that by then there will be 4 pilots shot and viewable to choose from? In that case, the 4 finalists should know who they are well in advance of November.

Whether or not they're permitted by the Golf Channel to publicise the fact is another matter...

Maybe it will be a live televised final with a panel of judges. If they need a token British person to be cruel to people, I should be available.

Voters must be a registered user of GolfChannel.com. Once at the Sweepstakes Website, if you are a registered user, enter your email address and click on "Enter". If you are not a registered user, after you input your email address and click on "Enter", you will be taken to a GolfChannel.com sign up form. The sign up form requires your first name, last name, street address (including city, state and zip/postal code, no P.O. Boxes), birth date, email address, telephone number (including area code) (optional), password of your choice and optional personal information (collectively "Entry Information"). Limit one (1) vote per day per Voter throughout the Public Voting Period. VOTERS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM VOTING BASED ON THE FOLLOWING: RACE, GENDER, COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, AGE, MARITAL STATUS, DISABILITY, MEDICAL CONDITION, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, CITIZENSHIP OR ANY OTHER BASIS PROTECTED BY APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE OR LOCAL LAW, ORDINANCE OR REGULATION. If it is brought to the attention of Sponsor that a Voter has voted using any criteria other than the Finalist suggested judging criteria, or otherwise in violation of these Official Rules, his/her vote will be disqualified.

"Finalist Videos will be voted on by the general public based upon the following suggested criteria: camera presence, knowledge of golf instruction, charisma, and creativity. Voters who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of November 29, 2010, and who are permanent legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, D.C., and Canada (excluding the province of Quebec), who are physically located and residing therein (excluding Guam, Puerto Rico and all other U.S. and foreign territories and possessions) are eligible to vote. Each Finalist may vote for his/her own Video in accordance with these Official Rules. Multiple votes received from any person or email address beyond the limits stated above will be disqualified. Votes generated by a script, macro, or other automated means will be disqualified. Votes that are incomplete, garbled, corrupted, or unintelligible for any reason, including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion (including, without limitation, at Sponsor's and/or any other entity's servers), are void and will not be accepted. Each Finalist will be assigned a score by Sponsor and/or its representatives based on the total number of votes received for his/her Video ("Voting Score").

In the event that Sponsor seeks to utilize one or more of the Finalists for future programming engagements beyond that Finalist(s)'s Pilot Exposure, a panel of qualified, independent judges may rank the Finalists' performances on their Pilot Episodes, factoring in such criteria as: camera presence, knowledge of golf instruction, charisma, and creativity and Voting Score. Such ranking may determine which, if any, of the Finalists are engaged by Sponsor for future work. The Finalist Video with the highest score will be declared the Grand Prize winner, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules."

OK - so there will be 4 pilots shot and shown, and there'll be a public vote on which is best. But the Grand Prize winner is decided by an independent panel who will take the public vote into account, amongst lots of other things.

Pretty much what you'd expect then. Democracy's great - but it's no way to run a business...
