Hi Dc, His speed is in the 105-108 range although we dont check this very frequently.

Some of his club distances are below

pw=140-145
7i=170-175
driver=290

I can't view the video either. But it sounds like he needs a new teacher. For sure.

It's a vimeo file. Can't view it on a tablet, only works on the home PC.

I like the before better.
The after set up looks as if his right side is too high, shoulder/s and hip/s.
Kind of looks like he could have the ball too forward but not sure from the angle of
the camera to the golfer.

Let me know if you can see these.

Not sure what else I can do to share there videos.

llyons, see if Kevin can view them "at home" but if not...re upload them to Youtube. Then KS and other ipad/tablet users should be able to see them (using ipad app).

Mr Lyons, if you haven't been happy with your son's swing progress since he has been in the program, Brian is obviously not far away which I'm sure would be happy to help if it's not a problem with the coach.

I think he fires too hard from the top. Very little "fall" or transition, IMO. In Tour Tempo speak, he hits it on the 2 count, not the 3 count. Backswing is a little slow, wide and comes to a stop, then fires. Lacks a little flow for my tastes. You can obviously see the talent though.

His earlier swing was in all aspects you mention better though, no?

Not really. I think maybe some people saw a different finish they didn't like but I didn't see the second one as being any downgrade from the first. Especially without seeing ballflight. I don't understand how anyone can make that judgement without seeing flight. Have we not learned anything???

1st and 3rd were my favorite swings, kinda meaningless without ball-flight though. I agree with Kevin that it lacks some flow. Almost a connect the dots type of swing. I would recommend this until you can see somebody in the academy.
He obviously has talent. Have him go to the range and get into a rhythm. Now without picking out a target get comfortably set up and just start ripping shots full bore, one after the other, without swing thoughts, as hard as he can hit it and stay balanced. See where they are going and then make that his new set-up and shot shape. I have found it is a lot simpler to trust what you naturally do and work backwards to find the setup/ball-flight than it is to create and trust a swing that conflicts with what your body instinctively wants to do.

He half topped/squeezed/smothered the "after" iron shot. Didn't you see the ball take off?

I would still say you can tell something about a swing by just looking at it. Up to a certain point of course.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the feedback. It is certainly appreciated. I am going to discuss the possibility of doing an instructor change with my son and see what he thinks. Its nothing against the current coach because he is a very good instructor but he is more focused on the team and I believe my son needs somebody focused solely on him.

I am curious about what Kevin said on the temp and transition. This is something that I think is causing some of the issue.

In other words, I am not certain our tempo is the same every shot and I have suggested to him that he try to work on tempo by counting 1dot2dot3, etc with where 2 is at the top of the swing and 3 is impact.

Kevin if you can elaborate that would be awesome.

Also does Brian work out of New Orleans or Baton Rouge these days?
