Less Shots or More Shots? - a hypothetical by Brian Manzella

I'd bet my house the club champs would go up. The challenge of using video sparingly or not at all is that video is what the customer WANTS. This has been my life's puzzle: sneaking WHAT THEY NEED into the guise of WHAT THEY WANT.
Ex.recent text message: "Hey Bill, I had the best round I've played in a long time after our lesson. Let's start doing more video though."

It's not VIDEO that's the problem, it's clueless users. I think it's wrong to slate video as a teaching aid, just as it would be wrong to slate LMs. A LM in the hands of an idiot is just a damaging as a camera.

BUT, if you banned video to all of those who are clueless, it would definitely help to restrict the damage done by these clueless numpties.

The tv commentator, PGA Tour Player, and golf instructor using video, nullified all the ball, turf and equipment changes combined.

It's a good thing rockets aren't $399.00 with slide rule technology to take you to the moon.

There is hope for mankind.

Here is one giant leap.

If all I had were two things going for me, my clubs and my friend Manzella, I'd be scoring or learning how to score.

Of course. I do not understand this silly crusade against video as a tool. It should be rather directed at clueless users -- read: clueless golf instruction.

Cheers

My view....after sleeping on it....is that it depends on the student. In total, I am guessing the overall scores would be better but some players can be helped vastly by it. I think we have all had the guy who had no clue how inside he waas on the moveaway or how open his clubface is at the top. Video and a V1 can convince that guy its not getting any better until a change is made. However, the majority would be better off having no clue. I think everyone can benefit from impact numbers, and that is a positive thing.

Lots of those and that out there.

That is the whole point.

:)

Believe me, when I build the facility of my dreams, we'll have a lot of cameras, and the best ones we can afford.

Plus the best 3D.

Plus TMIII

Plus every damn thing worth a damn.
