What about the Z-Factor Perfect Putting Machine? A Mangum endorsed product.

No it isn't ... he said he 'liked' it in 2005, but I doubt he endorses it now.

Looking through the Z-Factor site I noted this specious claim: "Learn what the proper stroke feels like."

What all these restraint and guidance gizmos do is eliminate 'feel' because it deadens your neuro-muscular system to an unassisted putting stroke. The more you use it the worse you get ... believe it.

Baloney! I have one and it has worked wonders for my putting stroke.

For someone who has always had a path problem with their putting I don't see why or how a plane board or the z-factor could not help to develop the feel of a good path and stroke. For someone with serious path issues a device like this could be a serious eye-opener and eureka type moment where they finally realize what a good path feels like. Just because the club is being guided does not mean that your feel is rendered useless. I don't get the basis for your argument here. So when instructors move the club for a student does that mean that the instructor is a crutch and the student will never be able to reproduce the same stroke???

Agree. It seems to me that verbal/hands-on instruction is much more effective than just verbal instruction.
