Art,
I am beginning to detect a pattern here. I noticed how each time I find something that yields significant improvement for me at the range and the course, I can trust that I would find eventually and somehow find an explanation of it in one of your deep insightful posts.
In terms of Trackman data, I can vouch that for my case, improvement in the movement of my left shoulder complex helped to increase my launch angles which were too low to more optimal numbers. This obviously benefitted my overall carry numbers.
This video by Brian on Rory was another icing on the cake in terms of the right shoulder complex.
(Also thanks for reminding me to read Dr Grober's work on tempo. Was perplexed at why my putting performance seemed to be declining until I saw your reminder.)
I am in positive anticipation of my next round to see how it will all perform.
To quote someone famous, "I am getting close...."
My best regards.
So I took my swing imbued with these new concepts, derived from organically absorbing Brian's comments and videos, and from careful study of Art's postulations, from the range to the course, and it was a revelation.
I hit 6/14 fairways. and another 5 where the ball just trickled into the first cut rough. Distances were at previously unknown levels. Instead of my usual 220-230m, 250-270m are now common. 270m is approx 295 yards for those not into the metric system.
I have an Adams hybrid Pro Black 18 degree. It's like the devil's club to me, hardest one to hit in my bag. If I don't compress the impact sufficiently, if my timing is the slightest bit off, this club goes nowhere. Guess what? With these new moves, this club is now turning out to be a godsend. On a rare tee shot miss, I used it to hit 200m over a tree from a borrowed fairway with ball beneath my feet at an awkward stance where I could not make a full balanced swing and almost got it on the green in 2 on a par 5.
Not bad (outrageous understatement) for something which I only practiced with 100 balls at the range before.
So, in reference to Brian and his team, the many valuable contributors in this forum, and especially Arturo, may I paraphrase a tagline here, "These guys are good!"
I am indebted.
