Gotta love the "build up" for television.

Anyone who has been on a monitor knows that you can't just "real back" and magically find another 20mph of ball speed hahaha.

So Jason was swinging with a lot less effort those first couple swings (even though it may not have appeared that way).

none the less, extremely impressive and good TV!

Brian, in general is it more important to snap the Kinetic Chain than to snap release for maximum clubhead speed?

Did you notice the bit at the end of the clip about "Coming Up" softball thrower Jenny Fish(?)?...
Watch the slow-mo side-on view of her and watch the wrist action....

So lag is really overrated for power is what we are saying here?

I imagine it depends on how you define lag. I've seen a number of accomplished golfers that didn't have that sharp of an angle between their left forearm and the clubshaft (which I guess is what is meant by a full sweep release). But as far as I can tell, the one thing that ALL accomplished golfers do that virtually no hackers do is create a 90 degree or sharper angle between their right forearm and the clubshaft as the hands pass in front of the backleg on the downswing. To me, that's what lag really is. Jason does it. David Toms does it. Tom Watson does it.

Zuback would hit it farther IF he could get more accumulator lag. The catch-22 is probably that the insane amount of muscle he has in his forearms may prevent him from having the flexibility needed to have that much angle(lag). However, he is so strong that he is still able to hit 200mph ballspeed with less lag. The posters that are saying that he shows that accumulator lag is overrated are kidding themselves. Maybe it is less important if you are on steroids and look like a body builder. For people in the real world it is an important part of a powerful swing.

I think I agree with that....
