mandrin~

*Considering it's brief duration, other than existing because the clubhead is attached to the axis, what influence does the centrifugal force exerted by the clubhead have on the system?

*Are there other centrifugal forces influencing the system?
DOCW3,

Centrifugal force comes into play very soon in the down swing. Without it no golf. Due to offset of cog of clubhead it bends the shaft in and perpendicular to swing plane.

mandrin, why do you think the rebending of the shaft during release is caused by CF rather than the initial bending created at the beginning of the downstroke?
tongzilla,

Both are decoupled. First bending then dissipation, followed by cf ‘rebending’.

without it no golf

If not a reference to physics, what is meant by "without it no golf?"

BTW, some trace the beginnings of golf to Holland in 1296. Maybe he liked windmills or tulips:)
The most important force acting in a golf swing is centrifugal force. It is responsible for the speed producing in line seeking of arms and club. It is largely self regulating with regard to release timing of shaft and clubface. It bends the shaft, especially of driver, prior to impact. All together not bad for a non-existing force. ;)
