Simplicity is good. And fun is good. And I ain't against a drink to calm the nerves either. "Aiming fluid", my friend calls it, lol. In mod..(eration)..
Best I can tell, the mental info (and not just with golf) hasn't changed much over the years for the masses, and people are still confused, or at least could use more/better options.
Maybe people just need to watch more Nike commercials Steve!

Nothing against motivation either. Though Carey, again, would say something like "Motivated to do what?" I take it the word has often come to mean something like "ambitious", or etc. ("in popular usage")
