there's a picture out there that is being touted....

Of course. Noone ever more will force your kids to a ridiculously big clubshaft lean angle at impact as well as noone will tell your kids that they must keep FLW long after separation. They will have much more free hours to toy around (short game, putting, etc.) instead spending countless hours trying to catch something that's against simple physics.

I can relate J. Spent too many hours on that nonsense and more hours getting over it.

It is, Steve, no matter how better you are than me as a player. It is against physics, no matter how longer you can keep it unconsciously comparing to myself, and how long I can keep it comparing to a 20 hcper. The weight of the club tends to set a parallel relation with the lead arm at impact. However, there are two possible biophysical points of collapsing - lead elbow joint and lead wrist joint.
The first depends somehow on how much the joint is being turned in + or in -. The second, however, excludes the possibility of being invurnerable for club's inertia. Look at double pendulum diagrams. There is no limitation in the wrist joint as a whole comparing to the elbow one.

Cheers

You really need to see my swing in high speed then Darius. My arms roll and that's what helps facilitate the flat left wrist. It does not continue outward with the back of my left hand facing the target. There is a hard roll which makes my wrist face downward. My forearms almost touch and that makes for a VERY shut clubface on the follow through. I hold that all the way to the finish.

Brian has even stated that it IS possible to hold the left wrist flat all the way to the end.

Very well. I do believe you, Steve. And I'd love to see your swing in a slo-mo.
What I wanted to underline is that ir is absolutely silly thing to spend countless hours to work on this phenomenon.

Cheers

Is wedding ring up supposed to have or not have a FLW at the end? I've assumed FLW to the end.

The left wrist is bending some, even if it is just a few degrees, up until impact. the divot would stall this and the "rollers" could keep it flat through the swivel. Its impossible with a driver, unless you want to hit it extremely short.

I agree. I believe it is possible, but not necessarily desirable to arch the left wrist into impact, thus keeping it unaturaly flat. Bending is natural, arching is contrived. Archers are skilled golfers, who can work against the natural physical forces when they want to - this skill is IMO necessary if you want to be a very good golfer. But you have to know when (and when not) to promote a force and when to restrain a force.

what if there is no "ground" except a tee, in the case of a driver hit?

This shaft bending seems too extreme as well, although in the correct orientation.

haha, i was just flipping through the mag and showing my family that photo! from their reaction, i have to assume that most people with no prior knowledge on this subject may find this leading deflection prior to impact mind boggling! :)

Photographs of objects at high speed are prone to distortion, like the wheels of a race car that look out of round. Focal plane shutter distortion.

Have to take them with a grain of salt.

Bending the left wrist during impact , results in the ball goling left period ! THE WRIST IS ARCHED OR FLAT AT IMPACT , trying flip or bending the left wrist at impact, thinking you will produce more power , ie. speed of the clubhead, produces bad direction PERIOD ! I have seen tour players practicing this trying to stop or slow down at impact and bend the left wrist and , I must laugh because this method is rubbish , the ball flys left left left !!

That is rubbish bending the left wrist is not natural !! and also in other sports , this method does not work , the ball flys left left left all day long ! I have watched tour players a master s cha. practice slowing down at impact and flipping, bending the left wrist during impact , I wonder where the ball flys ,,, yes left , so funny to watch a tour player practice what his coach belives ! Do you bend your left wrist when you write , eat , NO :

I think we would all agree with this. I, for one, am talking about the wrist staying flat for an extended period after impact. Having the left wrist be a free hinge that bends is seen in most great strikers after impact.

Vast Majority of good players have a FLW at impact. Vast majority of those allow it to bend and release pretty soon afterwards. Trying to "freeze" the left wrist in a rigid fashion throughout the swing is a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea.

It is still the case that a lot of hackers suffer from a bent left wrist well before impact after having thrown the lag away early.

Fair enough?

I agree, some left wrists stay longer flat some bend more after seperation, due to natural forces causing this . But as to a style or method beliving bending the left wrist through the impact period or slowing this down and firing the wrists , flipping , bending , is alot of rubbish , I would love to see that style done on the Trackmann!!!!!!!!!

Don't follow other forums but this thread enticed me over to the one that posted the infamous picture.

It reminds me of what Talleyrand said about France's ruling Bourbons:

"They have learned nothing and forgotten nothing"

Mark, if you want to call something rubbish, back it up with some kind of reasonable argument. Otherwise its just a waste of time.

You talk about tour players practicing something that you probably don't understand - are they rubbish? Is that why they are on Tour? How do you know what they are practicing anyway? Did you ask them?

I'm not hitting golf balls when I eat or write, so the comparison is completely asburd, maybe even rubbish;) Why do people have to practice keeping a flat left wrist if its natural? And why do most poor golfers have a bent left wrist before/at impact (that they are trying to get rid of) if its not natural?

You've been on the Kool Aid for too long and love it! It seems that indoctrination does not lend itself to discussion so lets save ourselves the hassle of further comments on each other's posts.
