there's a picture out there that is being touted....

Wherever the club is, I wish I had Byrons position!
Yes, but it's truly just a moment in time and part of a larger sequence of motions (without question). As such, trying to strive for a certain position (as seen in the moment in time), even as a "feeling", can obscure the proficiency with which the sequence of motions is performed.

Most every photo in GD over the past few years looks like that. Not really extreme at all. Matt kuchar's sequence looks like there is more backward bend. So does stricker's

bending the left wrist

I thought it was "rubbish" that its natural to bend? Now you're just contradicting yourself![/QUOTE

No I am not contradicting my self,I just say what I think and have learned . some players wrists bend after sepertation on the tour , but not at impact , by stopping and firing the wrists i.e bending its not natural , and ameteur golfers wrists bend while they dont know what the club s function is !! and think the club must go under the ball , to get the ball to fly , look at other sports , table tennis , if you bend the the left wrist ,you would not hit the table with the ball.

And I never said the left wrist FLW , I said "it does not bend at Impact"

OK, Mark, whatever. Read the posts firsts and try to understand what is being said before making your "rubbish" comments. Its because of post like yours that most forum discusssions degenerate into an "I'm right and you're wrong" waste of time situation. I was enjoying the BManz forum for the simple reason that most posters were at least polite and considered what had been said before "rubbishing" it. Unfortunatley you have been unable to maintain this standard. Nearly every comment you have made has been directed at me showing a small-mindedness based on the past. You really should move on. Its sad. Good advice FOC: send me my rangefinder and we'll call it quits;)

While I think the Blake and Nelson pictures are bogus...something like this seems possible. Can someone comment on whether this is "real" or not?

IMO, it's not a full swing. If you start to accelerate hard starting the motion from mid-downswing position it is possible to obtain such results but it is the last thing one can call as releasing the kinetic chain in the right moment, i.e. at the ball. In this case it was released simply later when the shaft started to bend the other direction somewhere in the follow through.
Ask the guy why he did not show the full swing.

Cheers

That is almost definitely not a full or normal swing. You can see Erickson doesn't load the shaft until almost impact,ie.the shaft doesn't bend backwards until almost impact. It is just a demonstration.

I'd like to see him do that with a full backswing, loading the shaft on the transition and then see if he can maintain shaft flex through impact and beyond. You will never see such a video because it's impossible.
