5 This year and counting, 70 and counting, 14 and counting, add it all up= best PLAYER / Winner, period. F... all the Driver's no good b.s., he could do this or that if he dumped Haney etc.

Who do you think is driving the car Haney or Tiger, me thinks Tiger. All the Tiger haters give it up, all the forum experts who think they know what's best for Tiger couldn't help themselves, never mind know what's good for Tiger, if they could what are they doing here asking all their questions about the swing, huh?

but I am not asking questions about the swing bro:D

ok.....been REALLY in a funk. and I got to thinking about my arms and hands and more thinking on the left wrist and left lever assembly.
the funk was HUGE pulls and BIGGER hooks, and snaps with the driver. So after coming off this 3-4 year layoff I was really think of going back to hibernation..............anyways...........with all the thinking of the list above I for the past 2 days have been making my left elbow point to my left hip at address......which makes both elbow pits point skyward. then from there standard takeaway and down cocking from there.........hitting it really straight, gained 1/2+ club in irons and fairways DEEP off the tee.........so what I want to know from guys like jim and the gang......what has this change produced in the mechanics of the golf swing? have I done something RIght? or just compensated?

Recognize the above post, seems like your asking a golfswing question, Bro.
My post wasn't naming you personally, but hey if the shoe fits...... lol

Both..I think el Tigre is a pure 100% athlete pre-madonna, that under the gun chooses to rip it( anything in his hands) rather than put it in play..How do you teach this guy??? Hard no??

i hear you man. Look tiger has the "gene" the "gene that will not let him control himself, and his aggression. He wants to RIP it off the tee. Tiger almost SEEMS to have the I rather look good doing it instead of doing it well gene.

I can not for the life of me understand why he thinks he needs to hit driver ALL OUT. It is stupid, and I almost Hopes it costs him his 17th and 18th majors. That is why I take issue with Tiger, him always being number one.
Well the number 1 player in the world should be within 30 yards of the fairway right?
In fact, I do not even take issue with tiger, he is CLEARLY the best. I have issue with the media build up of tiger. Look at the British Open, What did we hear more of Wastons great play, leading Wire to wire............Or OH GOD THE SKY IS FALLING TIGER MISSED THE CUT.

There are certain courses tiger wins at, and he will ALWAYS win there. Pebble, Torry, I dont think he will ever lose a British at the old course.

Stevie could hold him back a little I think, but you ask how do you TEACH him...........simple..............YOU DON'T

fair game, and some how I know you would pull that one up, a rare question.
we all ask questions from time to time.

I think Myself and MANY people on this board know more than Hank Haney................so the question is WHY ISNT TIGER ASKING QUESTIONS

and until Tiger hit more fairways than I do, I stand on my statement

I have genuine question.

All this talk about Tiger can't hittin any fairways but he's always up there in greens in regulation. He was 2nd in GIR this week at 70.8% but only 51.8% in fairways.

What gives?

Brian Gay hit 59% of fairways but only 37.5% GIR and came dead last.

More good points...What do you tell the guy to make him hit it in the fairway a little more often? Is it FLW, tempo, patience, breathing?? I think these questions are so hard to answer. i don't believe it's simply.."Don'tget so laid off in the backswing"..BS..Why? How would you know?(anyone??not attacking ej) More thoughts??

They didn't show the scrambling numbers for this event but Gay is normally a great scrambler as well as Tiger. They are near the top in the yearly stats for scrambling.

I was just checking out almost all the stats on tour and Brian Gay leads Tiger in every one that i saw. What does that say? I think it say's that having better stats. doesn't always result in winning tournaments.

Swing mechanics aside, I think Tiger will probably always have a tendency to rip at it, take some chances, charge late. It is his nature, I do believe.

Brian Gay's driving accuracy is right up there but GIR's are not.Either he is a very average iron player or fires at every tucked pin or he's too short off the tee leaving a very difficult second.

Tiger has always been up there in GIR's...i think he has lead the end of year stat in that category for 4 or 5 years out of the 14 or so years he's been playing on tour.

BG, is like every other player out there..........grinds away, cashes the checks. Then works hards and gets it all to click. Wins 3 times in 18 months and gets set for life. He is "short" off the tee by tour standards, and makes a living off the putter and playing a good schedule. Kenny Perry plays a good "schedule" too. When is the last time David Toms won? WHO CARES! DT has the game we all know it. What about Adam Scott? and many more names we could drop?

I like BG, and I dont mind Tiger. I just wish Tiger could get comtrol of the big stick, so eveyone would talk about how great he is, insteaad of IF tiger did this he would hit fairways.

I know this was a rambling by me, but I think it is easy to be an "internet Guru" and such..........so I will take my "internet energy" and devote it to my own game for the coming weeks, cause I have a few more tournaments to play in myself!

Maybe I am just jaded towards the game as a whole and burnout for the year.

Ej- this post is not really directed towards you in an offenisve manor, I just happen to Quote your post

I love after the B.O. how someone on GC was asked how Tiger would react after missing the cut. The guy said ( i beleive it was Peter O. ) "he'll probably win the the next tourney he tees it up at" lol.

As far as his driver goes, he can get away with being waaaaay right on some golf courses but not at the B.O. this year. Lost balls were a possibility on every hole. However, on courses like Warwick, you are hitting from another fairway. No big deal for a lot of players on tour.

I love DT's swing.Along with Hunter Mahan,he has the most right arm in golf. These guys simply can't flip.

read what you QUOTED..............I SAID DT HAS THE GAME WE ALL KNOW IT

I was in NO WAY slamming DT.

IN fact DT, BG, and Elk are my favs b/c they all have TGM teachers

Jumpy - must be the heat or the new health plan?? I was confirming your point with some facts!!! DT is ranked 7th in career earnings at $31+m who would have guessed it?

Henrik Stenson uses a 3 wood off the tee more often than not because he is erratic with the driver. So he takes a pragmatic view and wins the Players. (I like Stenson).

I don't believe Tiger thinks like that. If he feels the hole requires driver off the tee, he hits a driver. One of his finest major wins was Hoylake 2006, in four days he hit driver once. Why? Not because he didn't know if would go left or right, but because he couldn't control the amount of roll he would get on the firm ground when he hit it straight. Thus he laid back to be certain of his position for his next shot.

He doesn't pull the driver because of ego or being a jock, he pulls the driver because he thinks it's required and he backs his ability to hit the shot. He plays based on what a good shot will achieve, not to guard against a bad one. No compromises.
