always trying to make sense of all things manzella....
i am somewhat familiar with Trackman - not nearly as experienced as brian, kevin, and others but i do have a handle on what the numbers mean to the teacher and the student....
that being said - this is what jumped out at me as i watched this video...
Brian was attempting to show how a student would react to trackman numbers during a practice session - he turned on (audibly) two very important parameters to learn from - path and face angle - he can turn on any of the parameters depending upon what you want as feedback
in my opinion, when a student is in the very basic learning mode, i would love the numbers be "slightly dumbed down" in this regard - i wish the numbers were rounded to the nearest degree (drop the tenths number)
i also wish the path numbers were given in right and left terms (for the right handed golfer) instead of positive (right field) and negative (left field)...
obviously the numbers are great the way they are, but i'm just thinking about the student in the self help mode - if i hit a shot and the computer said "path 2 to the left, face open 4 - instead of club path minus 1.6 degrees, face angle 3.7 - i think i would learn more quickly
maybe i want this because my brain is a little slower than others, but anything that helps a student understand his real numbers quickly is an improvement that should be considered....
Trackman is pretty damn strong
