Developing PGA Tour Players

LOL..... sorry man this is TOO FUNNY...........I will check the parking lot for DLIII next time.
gas for gen is important cause you are not "PLUGGED IN" at walmart.
My point being, I do not think many of the spoiled tour players or going to "rough it " in the wally world parking lot.

I do however understand your point. But if a guy is struggling to make it out there, NO WAY IN HELL does he have enough money for a RV, roughing it or not. In fact if he had the money for a RV, what they should do is buy a nice sedan with 1/2 of it and then take the other 1/2 of the money and search for good instruction.

but anyways ...........it is still about 1.5 dimes weekly to mini-tour it........even with the "discount" many local hotels do for the week and carpooling. In fact, one of the guys I knew had a private sponser that gave him 55k everyyear, and he still sweated cuts and had to play EVERY pro-am to make all the ends meet.
which boils down to this.......the tour is full of rich spoiled kids......if you are not rich you better be better than tigger and have some sponsers.

If I had the golf game to make it on either the nationwide or pga tour I could travel to the tournaments for around $500 a week but I don't have a problem staying at local campgrounds for $20 a night and cooking my own food....You still don't understand rving you don't need a generator I just stayed a week at a rustic campground and never once fired up my generator. My fridge is propane and I usually cook outside with a small campstove and my lights run off of batteries which get charged when you are driving...On the otherside you can get a rig like DL3 and wind up spending more than if you were staying at hotels. Again, its all priority some people just can't "rough it" I call it vacation. So its not that they can't do it its they don't want to do it.

you might could GET there........then you have to pay entry and such which is about 800-1200 depending on the tour......and mini-tour players cut a check or debit card for this...........hence 1200 to 1800 a week to be out there....................

I know nothing about RVing, but I do know that you need a comfortable bed, hot shower, lots of food, and to be near the course in order to play good tournament golf at that level. It's not as easy as "Any ol' place will do."

Mini-tours are WAY more expensive that the Nationwide Tour. Even if you make the cut, you generally have to finish top-25 to make any kind of money; top-40 will generally come close to breaking even for the event. And these are in 200 player fields.

Bah...gimme a tent an inflatable bed and a can of beans every day and I'm good to go.

;)

this maybe true,i doubt it, but what is the entry fee for a nationwide event???

but my main point is, you just cant load up the stationwagon with a couple hundred bucks and expect to make it on ANY tour, even if you have game.

I get my numbers from people WHO HAVE DONE IT!

look at the hooters tour's it is 150 for members/250 for non members and ams.
this is just to monday Q.......if you do make it you have to pay an ADDITIONAL 950 for mem/1000 for nonmem/and250 for ams.............all due by tuesday afternoon
NGA Hooters Tour
pick any tournament on this link and get in the real world.

what your pdf does not show is the cost of being a member on that tour or the ENTRY into the tournament your pdf only shows the MONDAY cost. IN fact my numbers/link does not even show the "membership cost" which I think is $2500 for the hooters and up to close to $3500-4000 for the Nationwide, I think.

like I said, you just cant load up the wagon and go play on ANY tour.......please do not argue with me, I know what I am talking about.

Tournament Information Page

here is another from the Tightlies tour.............
Member - $850.00
Non-Member - $1,150.00
Amateur - $400.00
this is for the tournament proper......not monday Q and not including "membership dues" to the tour......these number are your WEEKLY entry fee........all to play for a 100k purse with a 15k winner's check

plus even on the tightlies tour you better be LOW like 15 under for the week to expect to make money

in fact the winner of the Coca-Cola Wal-Mart Open pres. by Million AirJun 17 - Jun 20, 2009 OakWing Golf Club in Alexandria, LA shot 22UNDER
this week above Jordan Payne.....I know many people who are good friends of his......shot 14 under good for $2200 T11

You already proved you know nothing about rving and their are lots of guys rving on the nationwide tour or loading up the wagon as you like to say.

If you have your card for the year, whether it be conditional or full exempt status for the Nationwide Tour, entry fees (if you get in) are a couple hundred bucks at most, I think. Definitely not more than a Monday qualifier fee for the NW which is $350.

you got me I ADMIT IT , I really do know nothing about RVing.....

but you still want to argue about the MONEY it takes to play on ANY tour......which YOU SIR know nothing about.

The mini tours like you refrence are not a way to make money .

guys do it every day. Zach Johnson fed his family on the hooters. and many others have as well.
and the Hooters for your info is the 3rd biggest tour out there, not to shabby since it is only behind the "dance" of the nationwide and the BIG SHOW of the PGA

Sure, lets use the nationwide tour...Whats the costs?

I know when I was going to try to monday for the St Jude on year (PGA) it was $600 JUST TO MONDAY Q.

I will look into it, If I cant find it I will call the Nationwide Offices.

We did orginally start this talk about the mini-tours. But fine we will use the NW, but keep in mind the players do not really pay the entry fees since they have Equip SPONSORS with money.
The mini-tours are much real world, since it is REAL people;s money.

not to even mention you have to pay your caddie.......I have a friend that caddied a nationwide event and hooters tour this summer and got payed $125 a loop.

Your right, I do not know all the membership costs. Lets use your numbers, $4000 annual membership fee, $100 entry fee for members. Lets say we play in 25 events so the membership comes out to $160 a tournament. That's $260 for a tournament, what other costs for playing are there?
