I'd like to add a few things:

1) This whole "gravity based" tempo thing works. It is what i help teach to people who will actually take putting lessons from me (hint: people should be taking more of them). The way i learned how to do it is to putt with my eyes closed. I do the same for those who will listen as well. I then let them develop a metro-nome (sp?) so that it can be repeated time and time again. I probably had the worst putting in all of florida (i can't stand bermuda greens) but if i was around 10 feet or less it had a 90% of dropping in because...

2) If you putt on a arc, plane tracing is extremely important. If you use straight back and straight through...it doesn't matter. Choose how you want to putt and then practice putting that way. I will say that if you want to putt straight back and straight through and do it effectively you better have a very short putter with a very upright lie angle.

3) If i can think of anything else, i'll add it in.

I think this is a VERY important point about Brian Manzella (me).

I love The Golfing Machine. But I learn something new everyday. So did Mr. Kelley.

In the 24 YEARS I have spent on the lesson tee, the drafting table, the computer, etc. etc, I have UPGRADED daily.

Can you imagine STOPPING learning new information?

Ben Doyle—of all people—always says: "Resistance to thought, stops progress."

We may argue our point around here, but at least we'll ARGUE our point. Most places won't.

But we WILL learn if there is valid information, and we will go on knowing more.

Why would ANYONE do it any other way????

Brian,

What would be the top 5 ideas that you have learnt since you became proficient in your knowledge of TGM, THAT YOU LEARNT FROM NON TGM sources?
