Hip Action

Brian,

How do you feel about best swingers hip action and . I note that TW, EE, MDF all have hips which remain level on the DS. Snead, however, had his right hip lower than left at impact. I find that I need to keep hips level to get enough left shoulder speed to horizontal hinge.

Your thoughts?

Also Brian,

For swingers, how do you feel about a right arm(and especially the right elbow) that stays very close to the torso through impact? It has been suggested that this proceedure enables one to get close to the original shaft plane through impact and that there might be benefits in doing that.

Start Down

Another question Brian - at start down, should the distance between the hands and the right shoulder stay the same, and if so, at what point in the downward motion do the hands start moving away from the right shoulder? Or do the hands begin moving away from the shoulder immediately?

Thanks - Bruce

You said just before impact. I envision that the

Hips would be starting to open. If square, are they then filling the left side to post up before they open??

Whoa NEllie...

Does everyone agree on where the hips are on the downswing the last time the sahft is PARALLEL to the ground pre-impact....

Square or open some????

Agree???? or not.

Agreed but you may have already replied to my previous comment.

So.....

If they are SQUARE or SLIGHTLY open on the downswing—

and the shaft is parallel to the plane line at that point...

then......

Something very different has to happen on a backswing where the hips TURN very quickly on the backswing...

So, I'm with the MORAD guys on this one (or they are with me)....the arms and clubshaft have to follow the hips.

Hips

My first move on the downswing would be to 'center' my hips (& weight) - this would put them close to 'square'. When my hands reach hip height (club shaft parallel to the ground and hopefully the plane) I would then begin to open my hips to the left that would allow the club to be 'thrown out" toward the ball / impact.

Cool.

So do you agree with me and the morad guys on the backswing point?

So is this quick hip turn part of the RFT????

Brian,
I too would like to have an answer on Blenhard's question regarding right shoulder and hands

Regi

Hey Reggie,

If you are STORING all of your angles (accumulators) then the distance during this period stays the same.

As you release these angles, the distance increases.

GOING AND COMING

(really though, I couldn't care less what they think, this is what I strongly believe).
