If strength is unimportant why do long driving professionals lift weights and try to get stronger

Oh that's just a myth!! The REALLY long hitters spend most of their time either on a X-iser or a recumbent with training wheels (for safety). Trust me, I saw JB Holmes the other day sweatin' to the oldies on a X-iser last week for a GOOD 5-7 minutes. Trust me, that's one hell of a workout. After a good burn, he got out of his hot pink butt huggers and into some tricycle shorts and got a good 2.5 miles in before he smashed balls at the range. AMAZING workout, that's all I can say, AMAZING.

Smashed balls on the driving range or smashed balls on the bike???

BOTH! Sidenote, I just talked to JB and he said he blames the lose on not enough cardio. He said if he would have spent just an extra 3 or 4 minutes on his X-iser he probably would have driven the water. He also said he's been staying up too late watching reruns of Seinfeld.

Just wanted to say that I tried the Xiser today and it really kicked my butt....IMO great machine. I can definetly see how this product helped you shed the pounds John...very cool. I just wish it was a little cheaper:(

There's a Guy in Chicago that Runs Year Round BareFooted... Another Option is to Buy a $100 Mountain Bike at Walmart.... Do Atkins and Ride or Run an Hour a Day and You Will be Back in Your Old Band Uniform before You Know It... Have a Great Day....:)

I agree with you that it should be less money but I have had mine for 10 years and it still works like new. I have trained over 200 golfers with it and hope to train many more. If you have knee or back problems it is one of the best ways to stay fit. I also have a mountain bike I ride 2-3 times a week for 20 to 30 miles on the paved trails we have here in central Florida. I have just moved to Ft Worth, TX and will miss biking on the trails and sprinting on the beaches in sunny Florida. I am sure I will find trails here in Ft. Worth, TX the land of Ben Hogan.

Understood Billy. I just worry about the effects of the Atkins...tried it in college. I lost lots of weight, but felt awful through the whole ordeal...not for me. I like South Beach much better. As for running and fitting in that band uniform, I have no use for either..I'm too cool to stress the joints that way and too cool for THAT kind of uniform.:) Bike sounds good though, although I still like my Crossfit workouts. Still searching.

I love the Dallas/Fort Worth area, good times for me..and lots of good gigs there also and trails. Be sure you go to Austin when you can...IMO the best college town in the U.S. Fun to look at the eye candy:)

I plan on making some Austin trips for Longhorn football. I will still go to most of the Gator home games in Gainesville which is like Austin a top college town. Go Gators #1
