Not something they say, but something they do. I am often helping a newer student with the concept of taking the "whole" club back to start the swing. So I ask them to take their stance, then I step in and grab the shaft so that I will be in control of the club. They ALWAYS let go of the club.

Ha, glad I am not the only one this happens to.

Ha ha, my Dad does this whenever I'm trying to show him something.

Why don't you tell them to keep hold of the club before you grab it. Will save you and the other two guys (below) who have the same problem a load of grief.

This happens to me and the other teachers that I work with all the time. One of the guys will just let them drop the club on the ground and he will back away. Most of the time after he does this they not drop it agian. Its pretty funny the first time it happens.

The Worst Advice of All-Time!

If you have a flat left wrist, and swing 45 degrees out to the right the kingdom of golf will be yours

Oh...you can't get anything lofted lower than a 7 iron in the air?? Well then you just need to flatten the lie on your clubs 8 degrees....

This 11° inside-out/alternate target line crap would finishing in the top 3 on any worse advice list.

But I have the winners!

2. Un-cock your left wrist toward the plane line with the face laying on the plane.

1. Moving your weight to the left on the backswing is the best way to control low point.

What 11 deg inside out angle are you referencing ?

Those folks at medicus did a spoof video on this , classic stuff , and aimed right at you for banging on about this for years , misinterpreting and misrepresenting TGM .

Are you right and they are wrong? Just asking

I am right and they are wrong.

Just answering.

1. They promote an idea in TGM that says the golf club can literally "leave the plane" during the release interval to the follow through.

It can't.

It doesn't.

2. They promoted a product that made golfers believe that the path the clubhead could travel on was 11° inside-out through impact.

It can.

It will produce a big hook.

The video that you talk about shows a impact that will produce ANYTHING but a straight ball.

3. They got up at the James Leitz seminar a couple of years ago and vehemently disagreed with me about the resultant path and the D-Plane.

They said the BALL WILL GO DEAD STRAIGHT if the clubhead contacts the ball on the way down the plane.

I said: "The downward strike will result in the path being out to the right a certain amount and downward a certain amount.

This would result in the bottom of the D-Plane being rotated to the right, producing hook spin with an at the target clubface, and no chance for a straight ball with ANY clubface except an out-to-the-right one."

They said no.

They were DEAD wrong.

I was right.

They haven't apologized.

I am waiting.

You see "caedus," they can't admit that the BOOK has errors, and they keep trying to RETROFIT the book into TrackMan world.

They can't.

You want more?

Didn't they also try to do a bunch of videos just recently saying they would use trackman to back it up? I never saw the back it up vids. Wonder why? =)

They say the 11 degrees is a vision thing referencing the sweetspot travel.

Well, it looks like that in video .

What do you think of the Vision Track Gadget?

Junk ? Should I spend the money on it?

I am still right. They are still wrong. Banged on the WRONG drummer.

They say the 11 degrees is a vision thing referencing the sweetspot travel.

Well, it looks like that in video.

The "Alternate Target Line" in TGM is a line connecting IMPACT and LOW POINT.

So, it is a real line, so-to-speak, but by definition, if impact occurs before low point, and it is "on plane," and that plane's base line is parallel to the target line, then the RESULTANT PATH is inside-out a certain amount.

So do to the LAWS OF ACTUAL PHYSICS, what we know as the D-Plane....

The ball can not go straight at the target.

I will repeat a few times....

The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.
The ball can not go straight at the target.

Got it?

Good.

So, if you want to hit hooks of some sort, buy one.

But in my experience, it is an overpriced, under-explained, fast "track" to below planesville, and out to right fielditis.

What do you think?

- They know and don't know how to admit it?

- They are actually that out of the loop?

You are still my all time favorite Birdie, its all a gee up . What I will tell you Birdie is that these guys who made that video know tgm better than the cesar, and you will have to get the goods yourself , I won't post it, but its definitely an all time classic spoof at the cesar and doyle method of tgm or interpretation of tgm, however you see it

I really don't care to see it except for simple curiosity and maybe a good laugh.

What I mean is, regarding this, I don't care how well they know TGM either.

Are you actually trying to plant a seed of doubt? WTH...

Your chances of getting ball first contact will improve if you make what's tantamount to a reverse pivot.
If you have a flat left wrist, and swing 45 degrees out to the right the kingdom of golf will be yours

Deplorable!

"Slow down", lilke it is the cure for all golfing ills. I hate that with a passion. It also drives me nuts when they use Ernie as an example of a "nice, slow tempo". Ernie's move looks smooth, but his speed isn't slow, and neither is his tempo.

Agreed Will.

Don't buy yellow balls if you have your own range and have to pick them up. I made this mistake. I bought some and the first day I used them there were dandelions everywhere. Good grief!
I was snap hooking the snot out of it right before our HS Conference tournament - went to the range to see if he could give me a quick 15 minute look - after 5 snap hooks he took my right hand and move it a bit more on top and said "Now try" - hooked 5 more - after each one the advice was "Closer" ... Snap Hook ... "Closer" - After the 5th one I said, "Closer to what?!?" - unless he meant my balls were finishing closer to the fence on the left side of the range - closer my arse - I'm closer to stickin' this driver up your arse!

Lol...hilarious. :)

The terms "strong grip" and "weak grip". And "you're gonna get worse before you get better".

Agreed. When they are based on "neutral" being strong of vertical, I mean.

"You always want to be on plane"

What plane!? :);)

"Don't straighten the right leg."

Definitely overused...!
