TWO NEW FREE VIDEOS on the Pivot and the Release by Brian Manzella

Just did a quick search and found this guy giving a good demonstration of what IMO is a lead knee collapse at ~ 1:35 mark in the video.

Golf Instruction - Use of legs in the Golf Swing - YouTube

The video posted earlier of Hogan with the clock-face has his lead knee going towards (actually right at) 3:00 which is right at the ball and far from a lead knee collapse.

Ben Hogan's Swing, like clockwork - YouTube

And a 1 inch "inward" move of the lead knee is far from a lead knee collapse. In the words of someone everyone here is familiar with. GEEZ.

I didn't put it there to show a lead knee collapse. Also if you think Hogan's knee is going directly out to the ball without coming towards his right knee, you got 2d eyes....GEEEZZZ.

Hogan's lead knee goes right at the ball at 3:00. There is very little lead knee collapse toward his rear leg. Bingo, Bango, Bongo.

I don't know how you can be taken serious saying things like "todays tour pro hackers" and "todays pros suck in general". You lose all credibility saying over the top ridiculous things like that. There's no one set of fundamentals that work for everyone (past or present). Everyone needs to find "their" way of doing it. You're stuck in the past and it's like saying they don't make movies like they use to.

You can appreciate swings (and movies) of the past while still appreciating the swings of today. :)

Frankly, I do not care about my credibility. If someone can benefit from my posts - great, the pleasure is totally mine.

I think I am allowed to express my opinion here. Yes, IMO today's pros suck in general. There are no true ballstrikers any more (even Furyk or Durant is not at the league of really great ballstrikers), anyone who can whack the ball a mile and has luck/can putt can win the tournament no matter where he finds the ball after the drive. Yes, this is purely my subjective opinion and I see no reason why it can be treated differently than someone else's who e.g. says that todays pros play golf unattainable for greats of yesteryear, especially I have good arguments pro this thesis, I guess.

I really suspect something is wrong with your eyes. Maybe let's start from the beginning - show me a lead knee "collapse" whatever that means. Show me a hacker on YT doing this.

Cheers

I already posted a YT video of a lead knee collapse. Go back a few posts of mine and and look at ~ the 1:35 mark in the video. I thought I explained in great detail what it was, but the video is worth a thousand words as they say.

I had a feeling you went off on your tangent without knowing what we were really debating.

Do you mean this posed static photo of Riggs ?:

Now imagine it all happens dynamically during the motion as here (do not have time now to upload even more greats):

Do you really believe there is still any room for further "collapsing" of the lead knee towards the rear knee ? I see their lead knee joints meet the natural limitation of bending inside.
Moreover, I see how they all could benefit from such a position later on. I can't see how they could benefit from not letting the knee go and not letting the outer edge of the lead heel lift off.

Cheers

It's not a static photo, it's a video. At the 1:35 mark in the video he demonstrates a collapsed lead knee. It's the first one I came upon when doing a search. The photos you posted aren't coming thru, so I can't see them. This is getting beyond frustrating.

Why do you and others continue to Thread Jack these posts. Have you noticed Brian has not chimed in on anything off topic. The topic of "RELEASE" seems to have been lost. It's always lost on Hogan, Hogan & more Hogan.

Can't you Hogan fans please address a topic without bring him up! Or start another thread.

I guess you can't read ,it says release and pivot, so since your legs are part of the pivot I don't see a problem? Also I'm not a huge Hogan fan you got me confused with Dariusz I just posted the video showing his lead knee action, I could use Jack N. if that makes you happier.... maybe Dariusz is right , some sure are sensitive to anything Hogan. It was just an example, get over it, life's too short.

For all you Hogan haters:

Watch closely. 3 majors, all with 3 course records and with lousy putting. Find something better in golf.

Happy New Year !
