So what now for the guy?

Who to go to? (or does he go to a teacher at all)

I mean....he must be sick of all this by now.......but who to trust.....hmmmm.......

Manzella Dictionary:

Driver Yips:

What you CALL what happens when you are below plane—and (or) under the sweetspot—and you don't know there IS such a thing.

The latest news, that Hank says is that he may have the yips with his driver. So mabey he sould make better golf swings?

Is it any wonder, when his swing instructor suffered the same affliction? If Haney's problems with the driver were due to his swing theories, then it's fair to say that there may be a connection to Tiger's driving issues. That said, Tiger has never had the straightest driver to begin with, if I'm not mistaken; maybe we're just focusing on the most obvious weakness in an otherwise well-rounded game.

Anyone see Haney's swing in GDigest a while back??

The swing he developed that "cured" his "driver yips"......

.....yikes!

If that's what "cured" him then I'd like to see his OLD swing...

Don't do it...

BM, if you coach Tiger, you'll have to discontinue all the great work you do with the masses....and soley put your attention into Tiger. What fun would that be? I mean, yes, you may get the invite to hang out on the Yacht. Rub coconut oil on Elin's back, fly "private" about wherever you go, but, come on, we'd all miss the "BALONEY" way too much.

Not only is the parallel plane theory no good I had to sit thru 2 hours of Hank Haney telling a whole group of pros that the right wrist must flatten prior to and thru impact.

Rick Smith says at the end of that article that Butch probably wants to get back at Tiger through Phil. Pretty funny, it's like a little PGA tour soap opera.

I agree with what Smith was saying about how Phil should stick with the fade. It keeps him consistent.

"Phil has got his style," said Smith, "and he doesn?t want to give that up. Ideally, I would like to shorten his backswing by a foot, but Phil isn?t comfortable with that. It makes him feel tight and he wants his swing to be more free-flowing. So it?s always been a blend of what I like and he wants -- it?s always been a compromise."

Quote attributed to Rick Smith in the article...

Harmon shortens backswings and likes fades...

Maybe Phil wants a different messenger...

Smith, however, had plenty to say, and it was telling.

"[There has] probably been a lack of communication," said Smith Saturday, acknowledging that the partnership had stalled. ?After awhile, the same message doesn?t get through as well. This morning before the round it got a little tense on the practice range because he was hitting the driver poorly and got confused. Finally, he sort of snapped at me, ?Could you just give me one thing?? "

Can you imagine Hogan saying this at the time he had one 3 majors??

What on earth can Harmon do to improve Phils swing. I got it he is going to put him on the explanar. Why don't these guys just take a look at the internet and they will find the main man Brian Manzella.

I was reading between the lines

"Rick’s still my guy, but I will keep having Butch check me now and then for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. That’s where it stands. If Butch is no good,, Then the Italian Stallion gets a call" ;)

Like I have said forEVER when I am told I am too critical, too confident, not PC enough.

Ha!

These guys HATE EACH OTHER, talk BAD about each other, etc. WAY, WAY, WAY worse than anything I ever do.

And I do it with SUBSTANCE.

In the end, I was right again. Ho-hum...

It is really a shame.

I could fix these two guys in a day.

Phil in the morning, Tiger in the afternoon.

DO NOT ASK ME WHAT I WOULD DO WITH THEM, DO NOT SAY WHAT YOU WOULD DO WITH THEM IF YOU HAVE BEEN SMARTENED UP ON THIS FORUM EVEN A LITTLE. PLEASE. Pretty please.

If I want to "give away a fix" I'll do it.

Right now, let 'em swing in the breeze.
