A long time idea of mine was to try to describe a family tree of TGM - Homer as the big Daddy then all the attendees at his early symposia being his sons ( with Ben as the eldest boy) etc....

There are definite families within TGM - Ben influences Brian, Greg McHatton influences Bobby Schaeffer etc.

The interesting thing are the marsupials within TGM ( ie the Aussies ) - Tom Tomasello seemed to have influenced Croker alot and his ideas live on in near isolation down there....

Not planning to be disparaging about anyone.... there are no illegitimate sons - just the odd prodigal black sheep.... metaphors mixing liberally:)

If you come to the MANZIPOSIUM, I'll lay it all out for you.

This is something I have done since the VERY beginning.

Connect the dots.

Brian,

Advantages and disadvantages of a steeper versus flatter shoulder turn?

You will always feel the need to get back UNDER the sweetspot, and if it is LATE in the downswing-----

FORE RIGHT!

A talented player.

Like Mike Finney.

It worked for me at 150 lbs.

It worked for Tom Bartlett at 180.

I am moving a student of mine toward it right now—of course she has TEH MOST ability of ANY female I have ever taught.

Are you putting a video of this girl up tonight?
Sounds like you have been 'planning' to change her from a sweep to a snap release for a while?
How will you deal with the clubface issues?

Not that I am a super athlete but...I am pushing like crazy. I was curious if I may be at a stage where I am overdoing the twist. So, the roll you mentioned, was that through the ball. Should I be thinking less twist???

Well....no.

First, try to rotate the clubface until it is pointing at the target.

THEN, tell me where it goes.

Learn to strike the chips with a PURE SWINGING motion.
I played with a guy today who used to be one of the country's top amateurs(He just played in the Crump Cup).
He couldn't hit a shot inside 40 yards.
Do you teach him basic motion swinging? Left arm only?
Rotella couldn't fix him...

Also...

I plan on doing a MANZEMINAR!!

Orlando, just before a Manzella TOUR STOP before the PGA Show, for one day, for AMATEURS.

(the MANZIPOSIUM id for pros)

Same price—FREE.

Just pass the hat to cover facility cost.

Those two events will be held every year they draw a crowd, as my contribution to GOLFDOM.

Free.

(How about that??)

I will just "pass the hat" at the end to cover the FACILITY cost.

This could be bigger than the actual summit!
Will Ben speak?(Is the Pope catholic?)
Are you going to try to get some people with opposing views?

Has a lot to do with leading with the elbow.

And a forearm SLAP!

A little confused. Didn't think the arms were supposed to be moved independent of the Pivot.

Canadian Junior Long Drive Kid video

What do you think of this youngster ? Birdieman posted his video on your site - I love the dynamic action he can hit it 400+ yards but his left arm bends in downswing sometime before release and pre-impact - and stays bent well into follow through. Left arm was dead straight at start down ( hands chest level - clubhead infront of head - ie. lag!!)

WHy?
Is there distance advantage? Like Vardon...
What would you do if the kid came ?
