Role of the Left Leg from Address to the Top....

I was wondering what the left leg "should" be doing after the start of the swing to the top of the backswing. Very much interested in its role from the perspective of helping to maintain proper balance throughout the swing. Does the left knee move forward, towards the toes? Does it move...

Alighnment (Feet and Shoulders) for an Iron Draw

I am trying to assemble a consistent draw swing for my irons (and basically everything off the ground). Question is, what should my alighnment be (feet and shoulders), parallel left of the target, at the target or right of the target?? Thanks.

Driver Swing and Angle of Attack- Set up, path, etc

OK, what do we have to do in order to get the driver swing AoA to level or on the Plus side? if the bottem of the swing is at the left shoulder, then to have it get to level or up, the path of the club will be going left.....So, must we play for a fade? Are we doomed to fight a pull if trying...

Trackman Iron Fitting - Data Utilization

Interested in the "key" elements of data needed for optimal iron fitting. Other than club path and face angle, (lets assume those are "optimal" in whatever way you want to define optimal for you), then do you look at angle of decent, spin, just pure carry, or what? Thanks.

Chipping Technique - Options?? What works best in practice

What technique would you say works best. According to Phil Mickleson, "there is only one way to chip" and thats "hinge and hold". Phil is ...well, pretty good with a wedge, so Im sure it works. Would TGM recommend "no wrist hinge" when chipping? its seems that the 2 feet back, 2 feet...

Pivoting like Crazy is Crazy....Can we explore this

Very interested in comments that address the idea of "too much pivot motion???" Can there be too much and are we talking primarily hips or shoulders or knees, or all? That is, how does too much pivot motion disrupt a solid swing? I am very flexable and sometimes feel like my big pivot...

    "Let your Swing Balance You"...

Guys, does this imply hitting or swinging? Also, is this more of an Els type swing, or a Tiger type action? Thanks. My instructor told me to this about allowing my swing to balance me throughout the stroke.

PGA Tour and Strong Grips...They work well

I submit that the majority of players on any tour play with a strong grip (varies by degree of course). With that said, even if you dont agree with that, at least a quarter of them do so. So, my question is, what are the top two adjustments they make, either in their set-up or swing to allow...

    Short Game (Scoring shots) Pitching...

In pitching from say 30 to 70 yards, do you like the wedge to "skim" the grass (using bounce) or dig and take a divot (using the leading edge more)? Lets assume its a routine shot from the front of the green, flag in the middle and you do not need to go in high, low, etc. Just a standard...

VJ Singh, post impact....No blast off????

When you look at VJ's swing, after impact to both arms straight, there is no blast "off" the chest, that upper arm is still connected, yet, he is a swinger. I have been pulling my shots a lot, with the idea that I "should" pull from the top (after the hip bump of course). Could an over...

On my downswing, I have a big tendency to "hang back" through the shot (yes I have sag through the shot as well). How do I get an appropriate amount of axis tilt without hanging back????? Thanks.

    Take it even lower....Handicap

OK guys, my handicap 16.7 at the beginning of 2004 and its currently 11.5. What should be my focus to get it to the next level (single digit). Most courses I play are between 6300 and 6800 yards. I usely have 8 iron or less into 90% of greens. My iron play and pitching sucks. Chipping is...

Iron Play. Rotary or Up and Down? [w/AudioAnswer]

When playing irons, especially short irons, do you feel more of an up and down swing through the ball (aka J. Nicklaus), or more rotary (aka G Player)? I tend to get too up and down and pull my short irons.

Hank Haney .....seems to be a good guy.

I read an article (interview) with Haney in Golf Internationl Magazine and from that, he seems to be a great guy! He talked about many things (swing changes, Hogan, plane, quick fixes, etc, but, with respect to teaching he essentially says...there are many great teachers out there, but, the...

    RFT vs. STT Awesome

Brian- I just wanted to let you and all others know that this is, for me, one of your best pieces of work for the struggling golfers on this board (my index is a 12.6). We all (or at least many of us), know enough TGM concepts and jargon. What is ultimatly needed MOST,.....is how to sort...

Former Flipper (Pivot) vs Magic of Right Forearm??

Help me reconcile this. In Confessions of a former flipper, Brian has a lot of focus on using the pivot to move the arms. How does this "concept" and action reconcile with the magic of the right forearm, which is an immediate up, back, and in BY THE MOVEMENT OF THE RIGHT FOREARM? Is there a...

Elbow Debate - Nicklaus vs Hogan (Fly vs Tuck)

Is it best to allow the right elbow to fly (fold and lift) or keep it relatively close to the body (fold only, very little lift)? My take: It seems "easier" to get in back into the slot/on-plane, IF you simply fold. Comments please.
