We have all talked alot about the coupling point and its movement through impact. BU what about its movement at the beginning of the backswing, especially as part of the wrist set.
I struggle big time with a poor/insufficient wrist set. Recently I began to experiment with a pushing down of...
Mr Granato dropped this hint on my other thread about inside takeaway. I think its a great tip that is very relevant to me.
I have familiarised myself with the 'arm swing illusion'...that the arms do not move across the body in the BS...that the left arm should stay away from the chest during...
I am going back to the fundamentals - grip and address.
I am keen to give myself a framework to ensure a more effective/efficient setup position.
Here is an image of me testing/practising one way of setting up at address. Its drawn from a variety of sources/influences.
I call it the DTL...
**Link fixed...sorry for the inconvenience***
I thought I had this problem licked a few months ago, but here are six swings doing everything I know to get the club on-plane...but without success.
NEW VIDEO LINK: http://youtu.be/UwnI2WyYxDM
I have no idea why i continue to struggle to get this...
The red line is where my right hip was at address.
The image is taken at top of backswing.
Clearly my right hip is nowhere near the red line at top of backswing and is in fact moving further away...I am almost falling to the left.
Is this a reverse pivot?
Presumably 'best practice' would have...

I am a chronic underplaner in search of an on plane takeaway and backswing.
In the video I have produced 6 swings that are all above plane. I am concentrating on a full and early wrist c0ck. Only recently did I realise that I had no...
I know that an on-plane backswing is not the be all and end all, but I hit the ball very poorly whenever it gets way to the inside.
Here is what I am trying to do:
Take the club ‘straight back’ for as long as I can.
Utilize a weak right hand grip IMHO, a strong right hand just invites dragging...
I experienced an interesting phenomenon this afternoon: the lower I tired to hit the ball the further it went.
My 7-iron VLA would normally average 18-19*. Distance would be 165yds on the best ones. I worked on lowering VLA and my VLA average got down to 17.5*. I found an extra couple of...
Art,
The link below should permit you (and anybody else) to access the data from my BBKIB experiment. If someone can figure out how to display the data (without everybody needing to download it via dropbox), feel free to do so.

Below/attached is some Flightscope data comparing my swing on two different 6 irons and shafts. I think it is a classic example of how a non-elite golfer benefits from GI clubs.
The clubs:
1. Spalding Tour Edition with DG S300 shafts: a classic players iron/blade from circa 1986
2. Ping I20 6...
