    MJ downswing ground forces

anyone imagine it like they are using the same muscles they'd use to get into a front split from the standing position? right leg forward, left back yeah, I went there...

Does an "ITAR" low to upward handpath allow one to downarch a little more easily?

Does an "ITAR" low to upward handpath allow one to downarch a little more easily? I feels that way to me. I've made significant improvement with an improved release but I still struggle with an open face at contact sometimes (fat right or flipped left). I'm determined to lick it this winter...

    my wedge game stinks

6 doubles on the card today and all from bad wedges 50yds and in. Had a few holes where I was paces off the green after decent drive and approach shots (my home course is hilly with plateau greens; lots of tough bounces) that ended terribly because I just can't get up and down. I have limited...

torque around the couping point; are forum members still actively focused on it?

It is funny how one's focus can shift in golf. I was hitting it great using very "coupling point" oriented swing thoughts. I guess I subconciously got away from it as I thought I had the concept baked in. Didn't take long for spinning hips, pivot dragging, and underplane hooks to come back...

Shortening the radius to release - anyone doing it with an up-tug on the left arm?

By up tug I mean a little shoulder shrug (left shoulder) and a left left elbow bend (think Lee Westwood). I think I'm effective releasing this way rather than pulling up on the club via a jump. Any others experiencing this?

Countersteering Motorcycles Counter-Steering Tutorial: In Depth Look - YouTube If you want to turn a bike right you actually have to move the bars to the left just a little to shift the weight of the bike into the corner. Think about it.

soft left elbow near impact with high torque release?

I broke 90 at my club (73.2/133) (first time!) last week and my ball striking was great. I played at a much harder course in the rain yesterday and was all over the place but mostly on the left side due to a big draw/hook. I think I stiffened up as I was having a bear of a time maintaining grip...

Rubbing my right thumb / iron bounce

My hands seem to want to get my right thumb involved in the out toss and coupling point rotation. I'm hitting it ok but I've never heard of any good player "experiencing" this. My thumb will actually be black at the end of a range sessions from rubbing on the grip. What am I doing wrong...

knee flex w/ a high torque, normal release

It is accurate to say that more knee bend is preferential to less knee bend at address and through the swing? My thinking is it would help with the "normal/jump" part of the release and prior to that likely allow for a stable base from which torqueing the coupling point would feel more productive.

Is the "feel" of wanting to have the grip fully turned over...

and vertical (from the face on view) before the club passes your right leg a valid one? Doing that has me torqueing, jumping, the whole nine.

    You're at the top..

Your hips and back are turned. You're concentrating on not tugging. You're going to rotate that coupling point. What are your first move and second moves? a) arm drop away from the target and then torque the club end over end (means that the grip stays roughly parallel to the target line in...

coupling point rotation -- grip questions

I found golf and internet golf forums in 2008. The forums happened to be TGM-centric. I also read Hogan's 5 Fundamentals very early on. My grip is based on 5 Fundamentals plus a heavy degree of trying to "feel" TGM pressure point #3. Specifically, my grip is pretty loosey goosey in regards...

    New knowledge observation

I just watched Sir Nick's driving special on TGC. He advocated a wide hand path, chasing through with the right hand, a high right shoulder, and looking like you were at address during contact. Six months ago I would have thought he was teaching bubble gum fixes and a flip. I was so...

    Indoor Coupling Point Rotation Training

Don't want to break any rules here so please pull this down if I've done so. I picked this training aid up about a year ago and it was collecting dust until tonight when a light went off in my head. I went and got it and tried making some swings with it and you can only really get it to crack...

    Charles Barkley

Looking at his old swings, I bet he developed his awful hitch by trying to swing with his body (the classic "from the ground up") in conjunction with a flat-left-wrist, drag inspired negative torque. Has to be. And it is likely that his instincts were rebelling against his intentions as he...
